Spring Academic Reminders for First Years & Sophomores

Tuesday, Feb 2, 2021

Welcome back! I am looking forward to working with each of you as you learn and grow this semester. Whether you are on campus or connecting remotely, my door (virtual for now) is always open.

As we embark on this new semester, I wanted to share some reminders with you. Please do take some time to read this email – I know that your inbox is full – and save it for future reference.

  • The add/drop period ends on Friday, February 12th at 11:59pm ET
    • If you need to make a significant change to your schedule consult with your faculty adviser or with me to make sure the change is appropriate. You’ll be able to drop a class up to the 9th week of the term for a fee, but you won’t be able to add any classes after 2/12.
  • Interested in trying out a course you’re not enrolled in during the add/drop period?
    • Instructors are encouraged to make their courses available (via Canvas and Blackboard) to students during add/drop. Read detailed instructions in the Spring 2021 “Teaching and Learning”  FAQ.
    • Please note that you may not attend any in-person course that you are not enrolled in. (You may virtually explore the course while you decide whether to enroll.)
  • Start your spring term strong with help from McGraw!
  • Attend the upcoming Certificate Expo Friday, February 5th (3-4:30pm)!
    • Learn about Certificate Programs and chat with students and program representatives! See flyer attached
  • Take advantage of the Library’s study-browse service

I am always here to discuss academic goals, address challenges and to connect you with all the avenues of support available to help you succeed this term. Don’t hesitate to reach out. Visit this site to make an appointment or simply call the office (609-258-3629).

Good luck this week!
