Amanda Irwin Wilkins

Writing Program
AB Adviser
Email Address:

Amanda Irwin Wilkins is the director of the Princeton Writing Program, home to the Writing Seminars, intensive courses in academic inquiry taken by every first-year student, and the Writing Center, which offers one-on-one conferences to all students on writing projects in any discipline. Amanda has taught a Writing Seminar that draws on her research into how we imagine war from the home front and navigate the aftermath of collective and individual trauma. She also occasionally ventures further afield to co-teach GEO/WRI 201: Measuring Climate Change, and she is an academic-athletic fellow for the softball team.

Amanda grew up in Maryland, graduated from Haverford College, and earned her Ph.D. in Comparative Literature at Princeton. Despite all that time on the East Coast, her roots run deep in the Midwest. When not on campus, Amanda is most likely to be found gardening.
